Zoning allows you to control the temperature delivered by your HVAC unit in multiple rooms (zones) at the same time. It will only allow heating or cooling into the room you want and prevent other rooms from being heated or cooled. A zoning system consists of a supply damper and thermostat for each room. These items are wired back to a central control panel that sequences each thermostat's call with the zone dampers in the supply ducts. In some instances a by-pass damper required to relieve excess air when only a smaller zone is calling. Zoning systems can save energy over a single thermostat system because you will have multiple setback thermostats saving energy in each room. Zoning provides perfect comfort, where and when you want.
